A BisonConvey partner factory supplied a ceramic-lagged drive pulley, idlers and a steel cord conveyor belt for an outdoor coal yard. The customer needed replacement components following repeated belt slippage and interruptions to conveying operations.
Project information was provided by the partner factory. The project was delivered by that factory; no delivery by BisonConvey is claimed here.

The customer's operating problem
The coal yard handled raw coal in a dusty outdoor environment with moisture and day-to-night temperature changes. According to the factory's project account, the existing rubber-lagged pulley experienced repeated belt slippage that interrupted stacker-reclaimer operations.
The customer needed a replacement drive pulley and associated conveyor components, with the wet and dusty operating conditions taken into account.
The factory's supplied configuration
The factory supplied a ceramic-lagged drive pulley. Its project account also lists idlers and a steel cord conveyor belt within the supply scope.
This configuration describes what was supplied for this project. It is not a specification for every coal conveyor: a replacement pulley still needs to be reviewed against the buyer's drawings, belt and drive requirements.

What to specify for a similar procurement request
| Review item | Information to provide |
|---|---|
| Pulley geometry and interfaces | Belt width, pulley diameter and face width, shaft drawing, bearings and mounting dimensions; distinguish bare-shell dimensions from dimensions over lagging |
| Drive requirements | Speed, power or torque, belt tensions and starting conditions, where available |
| Operating conditions | Conveyed material, moisture, observed material buildup, existing lagging and a description of when slippage occurs |
| Supply and delivery scope | Pulley quantity, any belt or idler requirements, drawing revisions, required documents, destination and packing restrictions |
For background on specifying the surface, see the conveyor pulley lagging selection guide. The guide does not replace a project-specific technical review.
Discuss a comparable conveyor requirement
BisonConvey works with multiple partner factories as a trading company. For a new inquiry, send your existing pulley drawing or available dimensions together with the operating problem. Supply scope, technical documents and delivery terms can then be discussed with the relevant factory.
