Partner Factory: Aggregate Conveyor Idlers

October 27, 20262 min read

A BisonConvey partner factory supplied heavy-duty troughing idlers and impact idlers for a granite aggregate conveyor. The customer's requirement focused on dust ingress, bearing seizure and the burden of frequent roller replacement.

Project information was provided by the partner factory. The project was delivered by that factory; no delivery by BisonConvey is claimed here.

The customer's maintenance problem

The conveyor handled abrasive granite aggregate in a high-dust environment. According to the factory's project account, the existing idlers experienced seal failures and dust ingress into the bearings, leading to seizure and recurring replacement work.

With a limited maintenance team, the customer wanted to reduce the frequency of replacement.

The factory's supplied configuration

The factory's project account lists heavy-duty troughing idlers and impact idlers with labyrinth sealing.

For a new quotation, specify whether you need individual rollers, idler assemblies or supporting frames, with quantities for each requested item. The factory's product-family descriptions alone do not define the assembly scope for a new order.

What to specify for a similar replacement request

Review itemInformation to provide
Individual roller dimensions, where requestedFinished diameter, face length, overall length and shaft diameter, with units and a drawing where available
Installation interfacesShaft-end configuration, mounting details, frame drawing and existing part reference
Operating and loading conditionsBelt width and speed, conveyed material, lump size, dust or moisture exposure, and loading-point details for impact idlers
Procurement scopeItem list and quantities, stating whether each quantity counts individual rollers or assemblies and whether frames are included; requested sealing and material details, drawing revision, inspection documents and delivery destination

If the original specification is incomplete, identify the unknown dimensions rather than treating a part number or nominal size as proof of interchangeability.

For background on defining the sealing requirement, see the conveyor idler seal selection guide.

Discuss a comparable idler requirement

BisonConvey works with multiple partner factories as a trading company. For a new inquiry, send a roller list, available dimensions or drawings, quantities and the failure symptoms your maintenance team has observed.

Request troughing and impact idler quotations or review the component supply coordination process. Compatibility, supply scope and delivery terms are confirmed for the individual order.
